Hmm... been trying a lot of different sponsors, descriptions etc during the last month or so.

Eroticacash.com - 935 clicks, 0 sign-ups
ExploitedTeens.com - 2448 clicks, 7 trials, 1 rebill, total $47,23
Penis-Health - 161 clicks, 0 sign-ups (with pretty much the same traffic as the other programs)
LightSpeedCash.com - 1014 clicks, 1 trial, 1 sign-up, total: $18,44
TopBucks.com - 211 clicks, 0 sign-ups
EroticaCash.com - 941 clicks, 0 sign-ups

This is really going well... My click trough rate to sponsor is less than 1%

Am I just being very, very un-lucky, or very, very bad at this? I have about 40k-50k uniques per gallery made. I am spending a lot of time, perhaps too much time designing galleries.

After reading all these posts on different boards for months I would think I know how the TGPs work. But still actually doing this is impossible.

I must say I have a real respect for people making $300-$500/day on posting which many people actually do, this sure is hard.

The numbers build up over a period of months. If you check out the
http://www.thestatistician.com
it shows some conversion numbers with many different sponsors...

Well I can understand how the sign-ups build up over a period of months for a partnership program. But for a per sign-up it shouldn't matter how long I stay with it, just how much traffic I manage to send. I would think that I'd get at least ONE sign-up a day.

Yesterday I had 100,000 uniques to my gallery and ZERO sign-ups, that sure doesn't sound right.

I'm gonna check the site you mentioned, perhaps I can find more sponsors I can send traffic that doesn't convert to

Making good money submitting galleries is not easy. You need experience to see what works and what doesnt. You need to use the proper content to promote a certain sponsor. For example: Use pornsatar images to promote a pornstar site, use teen images to promote a teen site and so-on. Instead of making a gallery that has a banner or two thrown in, take your time to properly promote the sponsor. You can go to big TGP's and have a look at some of the galleries they have listed near the top. These guys usually pay for those top spots and do make money. Look at those galleries to get an idea on how to make yours. Do it right and you will make money...I do

Well these are basically the same things I've heard for months and have been doing since I began submitting. Still actually making it work is not easy.

I guess I just have to continue trying over and over again. I have to make it sooner or later, right?

Thanks for the replies though.

If it was easy everyone would be doing it! The trick is to be consistent and keep trying until you find a sponsor that works for you. I make $400 - $600 everyday but still have days when I get fewer than 1 signup per 100,000 pageviews. Don't let that discourage you. Keep building and eventually the signups will come in.

Thanks, that gave me strength to keep submitting at least another week

MrNice, you probably already also heard that you should study what your competitors are doing. So do that - for example not many TGP posters can afford multiple listings on Worldsex with paid hosting - that means they have to know how to make money from that.
In first top ten at The Hun they are some galleries of people who paid $150 for one listing - so they probably know how to get those money back.
Occasionally some people scream out of the boards and show their nice stats. Go and search what they posted on the board in the past, you can learn from that too.

yes I know that XM

I have been watching paid listings on the big TGPs almost every day. I have also seen a lot of posts on boards where "people scream out their stats" as you put it. As well as posts with tips, comments, suggestions etc on other peoples galleries.

But since I don't want to copy other peoples galleries and steal their ideas it is hard to make mine unique and at the same time put in their strategies and what makes their galleries successful.

I don't give up easy so I guess that sooner or later I just have to make it somehow

I wouldn't worry too much about stealing people's ideas, I mean that is how most code is writtten. You see what someone did, you like it, you use the code yourself. You don't want to do things word for word, but come on, there are just so many ways one can make a gallery, that anyone can say that was thier idea first and you stole it.

Maybe I say this because I am a programmer, but code and format and stuff like that is fair game. Change the wording of things, and the color scheme to give it your own identity, but if I see a gallery and I know it is successful, then I am going to try that same format out for my next gallery. It is flattery more than stealing.

Just my opinion.

Well I am a software developer myself and I agree to some point. Of course to get ideas and to take certain parts may be allowed to some limit. The hard part is find that line between stealing and getting "inspiration".

If you copy word by word, color scheme etc that is going too far. And take someone elses wording and changing it to make it more you. That is hard, either it gets too identical which is not good. Or it's too different and therefor does not have the same strength as the original. It is hard to find the line there.

I've seen posts where people are bitching each other just because someone happen to have similar colors as someone else on a gallery.

You are probably right and I have seen people complaining also. I find it pretty lame that they get so upset. That is the way the world is run. If someone tells me they have this great gallery and it is getting all sorts of hits, I bet you can find a very similar gallery created by someone else before them. There are just too many galleries and not enough ways to do them, IMO.

I just know if I had this killer template that got me tons of hits, I wouldn't care if every other person out there copied it and used it. It would be different if someone stole the look of a website. That has a lot of different features such as naviagation, icon styles, placement of things, whether you use frames or not, dhtml tactics, etc.... But a gallery has thumbnail images, text, and banners. Just seems silly

It is a difference, on a gallery it is the design and look which makes it unique and more attractive.

If you make a killer gallery and post on a board about how much money it make. You can be sure that people will copy it, that is a fact. However you say you wouldn't mind, that's not true.
If people started copying the design it would get a lot harder for you to get accepted on TGP. And when a surfer gets used to a certain design and way to advertise he won't buy anything.

So if you find a killer design and post it on a board you can be sure that that will cause you to earn a lot less money. That is why most gallery posters get so upset when someone steal his design. And that is why you never see anyone post examples of their killer galleries on boards.

Having two similar websites on different subjects or even the same is one thing. The chance that the same person would see them both is quite small. While galleries are all gathered at the same place and a surfer looking at galleries will see a lot of them.

I suppose you are right. Maybe it is just my unimaginative mind, but I just have a hard time thinking of that many different designs. With the thousands of galleries put out each day, I just can't imagine being able to create one where you didn't rip off someone's idea, even if you never saw there work, you are probably doing something that was already done. But hey, I am just a programmer, not a designer, so I have a small imagination

There are a lot of ways to design a gallery. Sure the possibilities aren't endless but there sure aren't only a couple of hundred ways to creatre a gallery.

Have you never seen a gallery built up as a full page ad? Or containing pictures of girls in the logo and such? Sure the most common way to create a gallery is making it basic. But there are a lot of ways to do this as well. Certain colors mixed with others attracts the eye making it "wander" to the advertising text. You can place the advertising different ways which attracts the eyes better etc.

If the design wouldn't matter why do you think some people make 40 times more than other people advertising the same sponsor and maybe having similar advertising text? It is a lot harder than it looks, when I started I didn't think it would be easy but I never thought it would be this hard getting sales.

The surfer is looking at a lot of galleries and you have to make yours stand out and get the surfer to stay and eventually read the advertising.

As you can read above I am having a really hard time selling my stuff. And don't know how to best sell something. But I do know that the design is important. Not only to get listed, but also to get sales.

PS. I also have a very bad imagination, there have been times when I spent almost a whole day just trying to mix good colors, lol. Must be a programmer thing
